Description
Welcome to the Brouwersgracht! This very nice apartment at the back of the house is truly in a prime location!
The Brouwersgracht is often considered one of the most beautiful and popular streets in Amsterdam. In 2007/2008, readers of Het Parool even voted it the most beautiful street in the city, thanks to its charming canal houses, warehouses, and intimate atmosphere.
The old warehouse is located in (the north of) the Jordaan district, around the corner from the canal belt and the Haarlemmerbuurt, with a truly lively atmosphere and various amenities within walking distance. This stretch of canal is very peaceful, with charming coffee shops, restaurants, and charming shops nearby. The market on the Lindengracht and Noordermarkt are also within walking distance, as is Central Station.
In short, a wonderful place to live!
The house itself is spread over two floors at the backside of the house. It can be used as a whole house, or it can be divided into two separate apartments. Because there are two separate entrances/intercoms and the internal staircase in between can be locked on either side, this could be a great example. A few examples: two or more (student) children, combining living and working, a couple with children, a parent with a child sharing the space, sharing one space and renting out the other, and so on.
Layout
Shared entrance on the ground floor, from where you can either continue to the separate entrance on the ground floor or climb the stairs to the first-floor entrance.
First-floor entrance: hall, spacious, fully equipped kitchen, storage space for items such as a washing machine, and a separate toilet.
Proceed to the cozy living room, which also houses the door to the ground-floor apartment.
The original beams in the room clearly showcase the character of the old warehouse. The living room is comfortably laid out and spacious enough for a sitting area and a dining table. Sliding doors lead to the separate bedroom with en-suite bathroom. The finish is truly neat, timeless, and modern (everything was renovated and refurbished in 2014).
The wooden floor is solid.
The studio apartment below is accessible from both the communal entrance on the ground floor and internally through the apartment. This apartment has a compact and cozy layout;
the open-plan space features a fully equipped open kitchen with all appliances. This floor also has its own bathroom with a toilet, shower, and washing machine connection. French doors lead to the delightful patio. This patio is located at the rear of the building, where you can fully enjoy the tranquility of the city!
In short, a wonderful apartment spread over two floors in the heart of the Jordaan district with excellent finishes!
